Political parties directed on Special Summary Revision of E-Roll

Kohima, October 3 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner and ARO, Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, Kohima, R. Toshimeren Aier held a meeting with Recognized Political parties in Nagaland regarding the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll on October 3 at DC Conference hall, Kohima.  

Addressing the participants the DC informed the electors of the 8-Western Angami, 9-Kohima Town, 10 Northern Angami-1, 11 Northern Angami-II, 12 Tseminyu, 14 Southern Angami-I, and 15 Southern Angami -II Assembly Constituencies that the Electoral Roll has been prepared in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, and a copy is also available at the DC Office for the online registration.  

The office of the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer has informed that the qualifying date for the preparation of Electoral Roll would be on 1st January, 2018. He has directed the electors with regard to inclusion of names in the Electoral Roll or any objection to the particulars in any entry to lodge the same on or before 31st October, 2017 either to the office or the Booth Level Officer or sent the same via post to the office of the Assistant Electoral Registration Office. He further sought the cooperation and support of the various political parties and BLOs to work towards making clean election a reality for the general election, 2018.  

Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, R. Toshimeren Aier also informed that the stages of Revision will be held on the following qualifying dates: (1) Draft Publication of Rolls- 03-10-2017; (2) Period for filling claims and objections.  

03-10-2017 (Tuesday) to 31-10-2017; (3) Reading of relevant part /section of Photo Electoral Rolls in local bodies meeting and verification of names: 13-10-2017(Friday) and 27-10-2017; (4) Special Campaign dates with Booth Level Agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections: 14-10- 2017 (Saturday) and 28-10-2017; (5) Disposal of claims and objection by 30-11-2017; (6) Updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the control table and preparation and printing of supplementary list by 20-12-2017; (7) Final publication of electoral rolls on 05-01-2018.
