Polling officials to trek 39 km for lone voter in Arunachal village

The contractor of the ongoing National Highway-2 project from Kohima to Mao Gate today submitted before the Gauhati High Court Kohima Bench that 63.18% physical progress of work has been achieved with 61.83%. financial progress. 
The status report submitted by the NHICDL meanwhile informed that that the EPC Contractor has achieved 62.12% Physical Progress with 61.83% towards Financial Progress.

Both were direct by the Court on March 13 to submit the status report while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (Suo Moto) on April 2, 2022.

Meanwhile, the Additional Advocate General, Nagaland sought two more weeks’ time before to Division Bench of Justice Manish Choudhury and Justice Robin Phukan time to bring on record the minutes of meeting held between the State Administration and the NHIDCL authorities by way of an affidavit as directed in the March 13 order. 
Accordingly, the Bench posted the matter for further hearing on April 10. 
As per the Court’s record, the contract agreement for the project was signed on October 7, 2020. The work should have started on October 20, 2020 and completed by April 22, 2022.
However, as the work on the ground did not get started, the Court took up the matter on PIL Suo Moto on April 2, 2022.
