Pooja Film Production releases Nagamese film sequel ‘Fight Back’

Nagamese film— ‘Fight Back-2,’ a sequel of ‘Fight Back’ directed by veteran Nagamese director Ajay Kumar was released this evening here, at Tourist Lodge.

The film starring Yekitoli Yepthomi, is an action film with a two-hour run-time produced by Pooja Film Production, and the entire shooting done in Nagaland, Dimapur.

Speaking during the launch of the film, Ajay Kumar said it has been a privilege to be producing films in Nagaland for the last 30 years. However, he rued about the lack of support from the government on the film and media industry which has enormous potential among the Naga youths. “There are many talented actors, with so much potential to make it big in the film industry, yet unable to show their talent.”

While the neighbouring states like Assam and Manipur have been earning awards and accolades in the film industry, he prodded as to why Nagaland is unable to build a foundation in the field to this day.

Maintaining that the film industry has a big revenue in terms of crores, he urged upon the State government to aid the industry, which will be a boon for the people, especially easing the problem of unemployment among the educated youths. Kumar also highlighted the need for establishing cinema halls in every district of the State.

While acknowledging the companies who sponsored the film, Kumar expressed his passion for creating stories and that he would like to see Naga talents making it in the national and international platform in the near future.

Rev Daniel Shyam from Neighborhood Hindi Church, Midlandwho released the film, applauded Kumar for his hardwork all through the years, yet he has been “lacking support from societyand the government,” he conveyed.

Rev Shyam maintained that it was high time that the State“wake up” and explore the film and media industry bysetting up media schools and institutions. Stating that the Nagas are “educated and well-spoken,” he held that the industry would thrive when steered along the right direction. One’s culture and way of life can be shared through films, he said while adding that the Nagas have ‘many’ to share to the world.

He encouraged Kumar that he needs to be courageous and that he has a job to wake up the societythrough the films he create, by mirroring the condition of the society.

President of Dimapur Bongs, Jewel also acknowledged the director for his endurance and wished him success in his future endeavours.The movie screening was attended by family, friends and well-wishers.
