Population Stabilization Fortnight culminates in Peren

Peren, July 31 (MExN): Population Stabilization Fortnight activity was launched in Peren District on July 11 with the theme ‘Take responsibility towards Family Planning-Prepare for the Wellbeing of Mother and Child.’ It was carried out till July 24.


Family planning camp was held at District Hospital, Community Health Centre and Primary Health Centre and in all Sub-centres, Pezanguno Celine Secü, District Media Officer, CMO Office Peren stated in a press release. 


Miking and announcements were made in different areas in the towns and villages. Banners were also placed in the health units to create awareness and motivate during the observance of the fortnight.


In order to create intensive awareness, Focus group Discussion (FGD) on Family Planning was conducted by the Health Workers in the Health units along with Counselling by the Medical Officers and Nurses. ASHAs conducted Inter personnel communication in all the villages at the grass root level. During the camp condoms, oral pills and emergency pills were also distributed. IEC materials leaflets, posters were distributed to all the Health units.


 Dr. Yetovi Tuccu (Obs & Gynae) Senior Medical Officer and his team from CHC Jalukie conducted the laparoscopic sterilization camps and a total of 23 clients underwent permanent sterilization and 34 IUCDS insertions were done.
