Mon, August 1 (MExN): After gathering the reports from all the health units, Mon district reported 83 Tubectomy (female sterilization) and 231 IUCD INSERT IGNOREions during the Population Stabilization Fortnight (PSF) week.
t is to be noted that the Tubectomy is still on the process as scheduled according to the date fixed by the gynecologist of the District Hospital, Mon. The blocks which could not be covered on the time period, programmed by the GOI are Wakching, Phomching, Aboi and Tizit Block.
The main focus of the World Population Stabilization campaign was to create awareness about issues related to population growth, under the theme ‘Take Responsibility, Make Plans’ (Zimmedari Nibhao, Plan Banao). Meanwhile orientation on prevention and control of diarrhea was also given.
The services provided during the WPD & PSF are Distribution of IEC Materials on Family Planning in local dialect, Counselling & Motivation, Distribution of OCP & Condoms and IUCD INSERT IGNOREion.
