Zunheboto, September 12 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto and Chairman, Poshan Abhiyaan Peter Lichamo launched the district-wide Poshan Maah under Poshan Abhiyaan on September 11. Poshan Maah is a central government scheme aimed at making India malnutrition free by 2022.
A DIPR report stated that the launch programme held at the DC’s Conference Hall in Zunheboto town, was chaired by Mary V Chishi with two main themes, identification of SAM/MAM children and development of kitchen garden. Mughalu Awomi, District Coordinator, read out the Poshan pledge. The DC delivered the keynote address where he stressed that selection and identification of all beneficiaries needs to be done properly.
Dr Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO (RCH&UIP) represented the Department of Health and Family Welfare. She spoke on the importance of nutrition and Covid-19 awareness. Vote of thanks was delivered by Atula Kikon.
