Tening, September 28 (MExN): Cooking competition cum complementary feeding under Poshan Maah programme was organised by CDPO at Tening on September 26.

Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Tumben P Tsanglao stressed on the bleak situation of malnutrition in India. He shared the functionary of the government convergence of different programmes and participation of the people with foster good nutrition through primary health care and nutrition of mother and imparting quality education for the prosperous society.

Dr Nuksung Jamir, Medical Officer of Ayush, CHC Tening highlighted the importance of healthy nutrition for lactation and pregnant mothers with regular immunisation for children.

The competition was preparation of food with organic food in indigenous touch in the tradition method and served to 0 to 1 year age group.

The penal for the competition were Tumben P Tsanglao, EAC, Dr Nuksung Jamir, Medical Officer, Khiukhainliu, Entrepreneur. The eleven Anganwadi Centre from Tening town and village with Anganwadi workers, lactating mothers and women leaders took part the programme.

Coordinator of ICDS Tening, Dibinbo chaired the programme. Welcome speech and flagged off by CDPO. EAC gave away the winner prizes of the cooking competition.
