Poshan Pakhwada launched with a pledge in Tuensang

Tuensang, March 21 (MExN): A district level launching programme of Poshan Pakhwada (Nutrition Fortnight) 2023 was held in collaboration with the Sangsangnyu ICDS project at CKS Hall, Tuensang on March 21. 

On the occasion, Tuensang Deputy Commissioner Nokchasashi said that in the past, children were malnourished but it has changed with the convergent departments implementing different schemes such as the mid-day meal by the School Education Department and Social Welfare Department at Anganwadi Centers where nutritional food are provided. He also said that Poshan Pakhwada is a fourteen-day long programme where the Social Welfare Department will be conducting different activities at the district, block and village level.

According to an update from the state DIPR on Tuesday, the DC called upon all the convergent departments and the community leaders to give their cooperation for the successful implementation of the programme in the district. The DC also administered the Poshan Pledge and officially launched the Poshan Pakhwada.

A brief note on Poshan Pakhwada was presented by Natichumdam. Welcome address and vote of thanks were delivered by DPO (ICDS), T Longlang Luckpan and District Coordinator, PMMVY Tuensang L Tonen Chang respectively. The programme was chaired by Hanglenchila, it added.
