Post Disbursement Meet under SUI Scheme for Kohima district held

Kohima, June 14 (MExN): The first Post Disbursement Meet under Stand Up India (SUI) Scheme for Kohima district was held in Conclave Hall, LCS Building, Kohima town on June 13. It was organized by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and Lead Bank Office (LBO) Kohima in consultation with Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Dimapur for interacting with all the stakeholders regarding sharing of best practices and review of performance, problem solving, suggestions for improvement, etc.  

The SUI Scheme was formally launched by the Prime Minister on April 5 with the objective of encouraging greenfield enterprises under trading, manufacturing and services by SC/ST and women entrepreneurs with bank loan ranging from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 100 lakh through Scheduled Commercial Bank Branches. Recognising the challenges faced by SC, ST and women entrepreneurs in setting up enterprises, obtaining bank loans and other support needed from time to time for succeeding in business, the SUI Scheme has created an ecosystem which facilitates and continues to provide a supportive environment through their web portal www.standupmitra.in  

According to a press release issued by Bendang Aier, Assistant General Manager, NABARD in Kohima district, an amount of Rs. 421.13 lakh (Rupees four crore twenty one lakh and thirteen thousand only) has been sanctioned by nine banks to twenty beneficiaries since inception of the SUI Scheme. This includes eleven women entrepreneurs. The meeting was attended by officials from State Bank of India, Vijaya Bank, Central Bank of India, United Bank of India, Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI), Bank of Baroda and Bank of India along with their beneficiaries. Officials from District Industries Centre (DIC), Entrepreneurs Associates (EA) and Institute of Information Technology and Job-Oriented Training (IIJT) represented the Stand Up Help Centres (SUHC) of Kohima district.  

The programme was chaired by S. Sitlhou, Chief Manager and Lead District Manager (LDM) from SBI while Bendang Aier, AGM, NABARD welcomed the participants and shared the objective of the meeting. Interface with the stakeholders was moderated by S.P. Gangte, Officer-In-Charge, SIDBI, Dimapur and A. Temjen Jamir, GM, DIC, Kohima pronounced the vote of thanks.
