The India Postal Employees’ Union, Nagaland Division, P-3, P-4 & GDS Union  today joined the one day nationwide strike.

This strike was called by National Federation of Postal Employees in protest against the move on corporatization of the Postal Department and in support of the 20 points charter of demand.

In state capital Kohima, the postal employees gathered at Head Post Office and raised strong voice to the concerned authority to fulfill 20 charter demands.

AIPEU-P III, Nagaland Division informed that all public transaction in post offices across Nagaland remained close for the day.

Among others, the Charter of demands include stopping corporatization move in the department, stopping Nodal Delivery Centres for delivery of parcels and central delivery centres, scrapping of  the new pension scheme, filling up all vacant post and implementation of Cadre restructuring.

The 20 charter of demands include; stop corporatization move in Postal Department in name of Dak Mitra Scheme, Common Service Centre, stop arbitrary action in bringing the Postal Department (POSB) under the control of IPPB and transfer of CEPT etc.

Withdraw RTN, stop abolishing of RMS sections and resume all transit sections of RMS.

Strengthen L-2 offices. Withdraw recent order dated 30.06.2022 where in merger of CRC with ICH & NSH in a single hub had been instructed.

Stop Nodal Delivery Centres for Delivery of Parcels and Central Delivery Centres delivery of Speed Post Letters, stop "Downsizing and decentralisation" of Postal Accounts, immediate grant of time factors for all kinds of new work in all cadres.

It also demanded to scrap New Pension Scheme and restore Old Pension Scheme and Grant compensation for no deposit or delayed deposit of contribution under NPS.

It stated that pension should be granted from consolidated fund of C. G. and not from DoP like other Departments of Railway etc.

It also demanded the withdrawal of orders of putting restriction for holding two terms in union and implementation of Rule 15(1)(c) of CCS (Conduct) Rules-1964.

Ensure consistent and fast NSP-1 connectivity to all offices, supported by adequate NSP-2 backup. Enhance capacity of Finacle server. Ensure convenient availability of SAP and Employees.

Grant Status and Social Security to GDS. Immediate grant of all Trade Union facilities to AIPEU GDS and NUGDS.

Implementation all pending positive recommendation of kamalesh Chandra Committee Report viz. Weightage to senior GDS, ACP Scheme Medical Facilities schemes etc.

Fill up all vacant posts in all cadres including HSG-II/HSG-I posts by relaxing the norms. Allow HSG-I RMS officials to take part in PSS Group 'B' and AAO Exam. Fill up vacant posts of Canteen Staff.

“Recruitment should be made by the Department of Post instead of SSC,” it stated also demanded grant of Special Allowance to PO & RMS Accountants.

It also demanded implementation of Cadre Restructuring in all left out cadres, inclusion of civil wing staff to the Postal Departmental Exams, stop attack on trade unions and trade union victimization, maintain separate Identity of all Cadres i.e. PA CO etc, grant compensation Rs. Ten Lakh to the family of deceased employee due to Covid. Grant of Compulsory Compassionate appointment to one ward of the deceased employee due to Covid-19, stop harassment of officials in the name of unscientific business targets, Login, Maha login days for IPPB Ltd. and other business related works and compelling the officials to work on Sunday and Holidays for melas etc, conduct physical meetings of all types regularly at all levels, stop harassment of SBCO officials in the name of contributory negligence factor.

“SBCO should be brought under control of DA (P)/GM(Finance) with change in nomenclature,” it stated.

Other demands include; conduct departmental Exams of Postal Accounts at the earliest,  Grant SCF quota to Sr. Accountant for promotion in AAO Cadre, allow Postal Accounts officials in PSS Group 'B' Exam, higher pay to PA/SA etc. based on the enhancement of qualification and conduct of PA/SA exam departmental instead of staff selection commission, regularization of all Casual/DRM and timely payment of salary, absorb Part-time, Full time Casual labourers against MTS and GDS vacancies, 50% Quota in PA/SA LGO Examination to the Postman/Mail Guard/MTS, Payment of DA/DR arrears for 18 months with held period and grant notional benefit for pensionary payments for the officials who retired during this period, settle the issues of denial of increment as on 1st July to the officials who opted the fixation on promotion/financial upgradation replacing 6 calendar months by 180 days and Five Days week in Postal, RMS & MMS offices.
