Power cuts in several areas of Dimapur on Jan 24 & 25

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 22 (MExN): The Power Department today informed that there will be power interruption and load shedding in several areas of Dimapur on January 24 and 25 from 7:00am to 12 noon. 


The affected areas include Purana Bazar, Darogajan, Padumpukhuri, Toluvi, Zani, Shozukhu, L.Hotovi, Domokhia, Bamunpukhuri-A & B, Samaguri, Ekranipathar, Dubagaon, Eralibil, Aoyimti, Naharbari, Veterinary Colony, United North Block, Mao Colony, Walford, Rajbari, Imkonglenden, Half Nagarjan, Kuda-A, B & C. These include areas which are supplied power from Burma Camp Power House, Super Market Control room and Dairy Farm Control room.


A press release from the Executive Engineer, Dimapur Electrical Division informed that the department is planning to undertake  jungle clearing/cutting on the said dates and timings before the onset of the windy and rainy season, during which the department’s 11 KV feeders and LT distribution networks get severely affected, hampering stable power supply to consumers. 


The exercise will enable stable supply of power, the department informed. 


Meanwhile, the Power Department said that the various communities and councils have “always worked in close co-ordination for the welfare and uplift of the society.” 


“As always we anticipate and request the same gesture and co-operation from your esteemed council/community in extending your help to ask the residents/consumers to clear jungle/obstacles obstructing the 11 KV feeders and the LT distribution network in their respective surroundings as well as volunteer with the department in clearing the jungle/obstacles,” the department appealed. 


It said that a collaborative effort would not only be of great help to the department but it will ensure stable power supply to the consumers.
