Dimapur, January 29 (MExN): The Department of Power, Electrical Division in Dimapur, on Thursday announced a disconnection drive targeting electricity bill defaulters and illegal power connections.
In a press release, Executive Engineer Lhuvoyi stated that the drive will commence on February 5. It will involve disconnection for non-payment of electricity bills, raid and all other illegal activities like meter tempering, hooking and un-authorized load alteration for all categories of consumers including electricity communitised villages within its jurisdiction.
The drive will be conducted “without further notice and will be continued on regular basis till further order,” the department informed.
Consumers have been advised to clear pending bills within the stipulated timeframe to avoid inconvenience. The notice also directed consumers with billing discrepancies or grievances to visit the offices of the respective Sub-Divisional Officers (Electrical) for clarification at the earliest.
For online payments, consumers can log in to the portal www.dopn.gov.in using their Consumer ID to view and settle their bills, it added.
