DIMAPUR, JULY 29 (MExN): Power Kidz Club (PKC) of Burma Camp won Emporia Sporting Club’s 2nd 5-Men Soccer Tournament. PKC defeated Chumukedima’s Skater Boyz Club 1-0 in the final played at the GHSS playfield, United colony (Nagarjan) on Wednesday, July 29. Sixteen teams had competed in the tournament which was held under the theme: ‘A new Hope for Sportsmen’.
The champion team was awarded a cash purse of Rs. 20, 000 and the runners-up Rs. 10, 000 alongwith trophies. In individual display. Victor of PKC was adjudged the best player of the tournament while Yanger of Kyong Colony Youth Club was the highest scorere with 4 goals to his credit. Legend FC was declared the best disciplined team. The prizes were handed away by gust of honour Dr. Wati, president of Dimapur District Badminton Association.
The organizers said from its next edition the tournament will be known as ‘satball, the first three letters of which is an acronym for ‘skillful and talented’.
