Power of Truth

By Akangjungla

Truth is the essence of virtue and the foundation of a good character, embodying righteousness, integrity and faithfulness. Unlike lies, which breed conflict and mistrust, truth is transformative, liberating, and unchanging. Despite its clarity, truth is often met with uncertainty, and its significance is frequently overlooked. Lies may offer temporary illusions of power, but they are short-lived and collapse when exposed. Truth, however, stands absolute and unshaken, capable of outweighing injustice and inspiring change. As the ultimate power, truth cannot be altered by any authority, and its words carry the weight of authenticity, morality and freedom. Truth is not just a virtue—it is the cornerstone of a meaningful and honourable life.

Truth can never be misquoted. Just as truth is the oldest virtue, lying is the oldest vice. Yet, the divinity of truth and the wickedness of lying can never be equated. Untruthfulness breeds conflict, doubt, inconsistency and mistrust. In contrast, truth is transformative and liberating and an ideal - a constant impulse to live by it.

Unfortunately, the concept of truth is often worn down in uncertainty and often misunderstood as “fact” or “legitimacy.” Truth holds the supremacy to influence time without end. Those who readily shift their principles to gain power or popularity cannot be trusted. In their quest to exhibit a fake self-image, they devalue the worth of their own self.

Lies are short-lived. When uncovered, they collapse along with the illusion of their false strength and supremacy. But truth is absolute. It stands alone, courageous and determined. The Russian proverb – ‘One word of truth shall outweigh the world’s injustice’ attests to the immense power and moral authority of truth. It suggests that even a single moment of clarity can correct the weight of wrongdoing. Truth, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, has the capacity to confront and overcome the wrong, no matter how persistent it may seem. This proverb reminds us that truth, though sometimes quiet or overlooked, holds an enduring strength, capable of ultimately restoring integrity to the world.

Truth, however heard, brings freedom and restoration. Therefore, no statement from any position of power can alter the truth, because truth itself is the ultimate power.
