Power shutdown in Kohima today

Kohima, June 27 (MExN): The Power Department has announced an emergency shutdown of power supply in parts of Kohima on June 28 to facilitate the relocation of a damaged utility structure along the Civil Secretariat Road. According to a press release issued by the Executive Engineer of the Electrical Division in Kohima, the shutdown will affect the 11KV Secretariat and 11KV Thizama feeders from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday. The outage is required for the relocation of a double pole structure that has become precariously positioned due to a landslide triggered by incessant rainfall.

Areas that will experience disruption in power supply include the Secretariat Area, Lower Bayavii, Khikha-Ruleizou, Merema, and Thizama. “The department will make every effort to restore power before the stipulated time,” the Executive Engineer, Er Shiludi Longkumer, stated. Consumers in the affected areas have been requested to take necessary precautions and cooperate with the department during the shutdown.
