
Dimapur, July 25 (MExN): The Department of Power has announced a total shutdown of power supply in Mon district from July 28 to August 2 to facilitate vegetation clearance along the 66kV transmission lines under the Transmission Division Mokokchung.
According to a press release issued by the Executive Engineer of the Transmission Division, the shutdown will be enforced daily from 08:00 hrs to 16:00 hrs. The affected line will be the 66kV Naginimora–Tizit feeder, which supplies electricity to areas in Mon district.
“This exercise is necessitated with the aim to provide stable power supply and avoid unwarranted disruption of supply,” the department stated. It further appealed to all residents in the affected areas to extend cooperation and bear the inconvenience during the shutdown period. The vegetation clearance activity is being undertaken to ensure smooth and uninterrupted transmission of electricity in the long run, the release said.
