Kohima/Dimapur September 10 (MExN): Power supply will be temporarily shut down in parts of Kohima and Niuland on September 11 to facilitate maintenance and vegetation clearance works, according to separate notices issued by the Power Department and the Deputy Commissioner, Niuland.

In Kohima, a scheduled total shutdown will be carried out from 5-8 AM on September 11 to facilitate maintenance of the 132kV Main Bus at the 132/33/11kV RESS Kohima. 

The affected areas include Kohima town, Western Angami area, parts of the Southern Angami area and Chozouba area.

The Power Department has requested consumers and the public in the affected areas to cooperate and bear with the inconvenience during the shutdown period.

Meanwhile, in Niuland district, vegetation clearance along 11KV power lines will be carried out under the Electrical Section, Niuland. 
The Niuland-Aghunaqa 11KV feeder will remain shut down from 6 AM to 12 PM on September 11.

The Deputy Commissioner, Niuland, has requested Head GBs, Village Council Chairmen (VCCs) and Village Electricity Management Boards (VEMBs) to assist in carrying out the clearance works under their respective jurisdictions. Assistance will also be provided by the lineman in charge of the respective villages.

The notice further stated that the Yankili feeder will remain shut down from 6 AM to 12 PM on September 18 for the same purpose. The public has been requested to bear with the inconvenience during the shutdown periods.
