Kohima, June 12 (mexn): Power Supply to Midland Colony, Kohima and adjoining areas has been affected due to damage of the 500kVA Distribution Transformer located at TCP Gate on June 8. A press release from the Sub-Divisional Officer Electrical Sub-Division No–I, Kohima informed that a replacement 250 KVA transformer with smaller capacity was pressed into service thereafter as an interim measure to cater power supply to the affected areas with extended load shedding. The Department arranged a 500KVA transformer and installed the same on June 10 by replacing the standby 250KVA transformer, but unfortunately, it also got damaged within hours of charging, it said. Alternatively, the smaller capacity transformer has been put into service again resulting in extended load shedding, it added. The department is trying its best to arrange a 500kVA Transformer until which it is appealed to the affected consumers to kindly bear with the inconvenience.
