DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 2 (MExN): The Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC) has demanded immediate independent judicial inquiry, and suspension of Longleng DC and the concerned police officers with regard to the firing incident of January 31, which injured 7 people.
A press note from the PPC informed that it has also resolved not to expect any ex-gratia from the government. The PPC has meanwhile conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members of the two people who died in Dimapur, and also wished those injured a speedy recovery. It further blamed the present state government led by the NPF party for “all the mess and chaos being created and taking people’s lives at risk.”
