Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Dimapur celebrated ‘163rd Birth Anniversary of Viswa-Kabi Rabindranath Tagore’ at Pranab Jubilee Auditorium on May 8.
The welcome speech was delivered by PVHSS Principal, Monoj Bhattacharjee. In his speech, Bhattacharjee enumerated the life and unparallel contributions of the world poet Rabindranath Tagore. He encouraged all the students to study their own mother-tongue with pride and immense pleasure which can enable them to enrich, develop and preserve their own culture and tradition.
In the next session, various cultural items such as Rabindra Sangeet, dance, recitation and etc were performed by the students and teachers of the Vidyapith to mark as honour and tribute to Kabi-guru Rabindranath Tagore.
Swami Chinmayanandaji Maharaj, Chairman of Vidyapith, I/c BSSDimapur and Karbi Anglong District of Assam also delivered a speech and placed his words of blessings to one and all. The programme closed with vote of thanks given by Baby Chakraborty, A/T PVHSS.
