Sub Urban Police Station, Dimapur in collaboration with Women Empowerment Cell of Pranabananda Women’s College, Dimapur organized a ‘Cyber Jagrookta (Awareness) Diwas’ on November 7 at the college premises.
Dimapur, November 7 (MExN): The Sub Urban Police Station, Dimapur in collaboration with Women Empowerment Cell of Pranabananda Women’s College, Dimapur organized a ‘Cyber Jagrookta (Awareness) Diwas’ on November 7 at the college premises.
The objective of the programme is to spread awareness of Cyber Crime among students, according to a press release from the College Principal.
The resource person, Asabo Newmai, UBSI, CP office, Dimapur delivered a talk on Cybercrime, emphasizing on the benefits of being cyber hygienic. He advised the students not to click on links sent from unknown sources, to activate the two-step verification on social media platforms and not to accept friend requests from unknown persons or from duplicate friend profiles. He also advised the students to be cautious while installing the different apps on their mobile phones and allowing permission requests from those apps.
Another resource person, UBSI Tsekhumla, Women Police Station, Dimapur delivered a talk on Crime against Women and informed that the crime against women has increased by 15% as per NCRB report in the year 2021. The students were made aware of the different types of crime that takes place in society and she encouraged the students to create awareness about such crimes against women.
The programme was chaired by Themneingah Hanneng, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science. The welcome address was delivered by Gracia K Jimo, Convenor, Women Empowerment Cell, Pranabananda Women’s College. Thereafter, the introduction talk was delivered by UBI Among Jamir, Sub Urban Police Station, Dimapur, the release stated.
