DIMAPUR NOV 24 (MExN): Preliminary charge-sheets have been warranted against Tinuwati and Imkong Longkumer while Thsapongse Sangtam was exempted on request for more time. The proceedings were initiated at today’s hearing at the DC (judicial) court here at Dimapur today. The next hearing has been set for January 13. Apart from the barristers and the concerned, the court was also attended by student leaders from the Naga Students Federation (NSF) and the Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU).
Meanwhile, NSF President Pushika Aomi promptly brushed aside the legal ‘exercises’ as eyewash all the while expressing discontent that ‘preliminary’ charge-sheets were being warranted against the accused only now, implying that investigations had proved the involved guilty. “All these are just small fries” Aomi told this paper adding that the ‘bigger fish’ should be tried publicly too. On today’s ruling for issuing “preliminary” charge-sheet to the said persons, he questioned why it should be necessary (‘preliminary’ charge sheet) when investigations were long-concluded. He was of the opinion that the Government was only humoring the NSF. “We want the whole system cleansed, (not only those involved in the scam) and we have been demanding investigations into the last 20 years of the NPSC.” he added. The student leader added that the NSF was still standing on the demand for a CBI enquiry.
