Preparations ahead of 18th Lok Sabha Elections in Nagaland

Phek, April 6 (MExN): DC & DEO Phek John Tsulise Sangtam, NCS has informed to all concerned Polling Personnel, Electors Category and Absentee Voters, PLOs, Sector Officers and Political Parties of Phek district that the date for Voting through Postal Ballot (House to house) is scheduled on April 11. The training/briefing by Nodal Officer, Postal Ballot will be conducted  at 4:00 PM on April 10 at the Postal Ballot Cell, DC & DEO office, Phek, for which all Polling Personnel for Postal Ballot Team are to report on time without fail.

DC & DEO Phek, John Tsulise Sangtam, NCS has informed to all the Political Parties under Phek District that the exercise for data commissioning of EVMs/VVPATs (Candidate setting in Control Units, Ballot Units and VVPATs) will be done and conducted on April 8 at 10:00 AM onwards, at DC's Office, Phek Hq. Therefore, all concerned are informed to be present or send their representative to witness the entire process. 

Mon: DC & DEO Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma has notified that a dedicated Control Room to enable Public and Political parties to lodge complaints or report on Model Code of Conduct Violation is set up at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Mon. Dedicated Control Room number is 9862552950 and 7005069939.

Pughoboto: In light of upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Elections, training on webcasting/offline videography was conducted by ADC & DEO office, Pughoboto, with master trainers Vihoto Sheqi and Isak on April 6. Operators assigned for webcasting in 17 polling stations under Pughoboto Assembly Constituency attended the hands-on training held at VDB Hall, Pughoboto. The DEO further informed the 1st Mock Drill for 20 per cent of identified polling stations will take place on April 9 while the 2nd Mock Drill/Mega Mock Drill for 50% of identified polling stations will take place on April 12. Webcasting systems are to be collected and returned to the DEO office after the completion of the mock drill. 

Longleng: DC & DEO, Longleng has informed all the political parties under 49 A/C- Tamlu and 50 A/C- Longleng that there will be a Commissioning and preparation of EVMs-VVPATs for the poll w.e.f. April 8 at 08.30 AM in the DC Conference Hall. Therefore, all concerned are requested to come and witness till the process is completed. It is to be noted that after the completion of the Commissioning, Mock Poll for each political party will also be held separately. 

The Medical Board Longleng verified the application of the polling personnel seeking exemption from election duty on medical ground on April 6, at DC’s conference hall Longleng. The Medical Board comprised of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Alongdhimen Jamir, NCS; CMO Longleng, Dr Tiasunep and DTO, Dr Temsusashi.

DC & DEO Longleng has informed that a hands-on training g for Webcasting Operators will be conducted on April 8 at 12:00 Noon at DPDB hall, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Longleng. All concerned have been directed to attend the same without fail.

Peren: In view of the forthcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election 2024, training for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Webcasting Operators was held at Town Hall, Peren on April 6. The BLOs were imparted training by AEO Peren, Aketo, while Pauzikonne Mariam, Kekhribenuo Usou and Ngauzeulungbe led the training session for Webcasting Operators.

The second round of Randomization of Polling Personnel for Peren District was conducted at the Office Chamber of ADC, Peren, on April 6. The entire process was done in the presence of Expenditure Observer, Vivek Chauhan (IRS), District Election Officer, Assistant Returning Officers and other Officials.

Kiphire: DC & DEO Kiphire Temsuwati Longkumer NCS has informed all the Operators of Webcasting and Offline Videography that the first phase training will be held on April 8 at 12:00 Noon at GHSS, Kiphire. Further, the BLOs (Operator) who are attending others training on April 8 will be exempted from the Webcasting and Offline Videography training on the production of necessary documents.

Tuensang: Randomisation of Polling Personnel for Tuensang District was done on April 6 under the supervision of A Zibenthung Kithan Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Tuensang at NIC Conference Hall Tuensang.
