Dimapur, February 3 (MExN): The Chakhromna Youth Organisation (CYO) today said that had the government been sensitive enough and heed to the voice of the people, the situation would not have taken such an ugly turn.
“The present situation should never be politicized by any political party for any cheap/petty political gains, because it is an issue which concerns the Nagas as a whole and above party politics,” said CYO.
“The whole issue was precipitated by the arrogant and irresponsible decision and action of the state government where it took a cowardly U-turn against the agreement signed with the NBCC and JCC which is total betrayal of the trust of the people,” stated a press release issued by the CYO.
The CYO said that at this present juncture, the seemingly deep concern and appeal of the CM and some individuals regarding damage of properties is utterly inhuman and senseless. “Human life is most precious and such materialistic concern and irrational Act (Municipal Act) can never be considered above our Naga identity and culture. The state government should take full responsibility for playing with human lives for some cheap and dirty political ambition,” CYO added.
The CYO reiterates its full support to the Chakhroma Public Organization and other tribal Hohos in their charter of demands and shall firmly stand by it.
Further, the CYO conveyed sincere and deepest condolence to the bereaved family of the two deceased youths and pray for solace and peace to the family members. It also wishes speedy recovery to all the injured youths who are under medical treatment.
