Preserve ancestral cultures & customs: Kipili Sangtam

DIMAPUR, Dec 30 (MExN): C. Kipili Sangtam, Parliamentary Secretary (LRD) Nagaland urged all the citizens to preserve ancestral culture and customs so as to maintain oneness among the citizens while speaking as the Chief Guest during the celebrations of 25 years of Citizen and Chair (Suro Bumji) at Kisetong village which was celebrated recently from December 16 to 18 last.

While revealing the 8 new policies recently formulated by the DAN government under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio which included the preservation of Naga indigenous items and cultures, women empowerment, youth empowerment, and declaration of 2006 as the year of farmer, he called upon all the citizens of the village to utilize the new government policies and also preserve the same spirit till the next Golden Jubilee celebration.

Tsomongo Lotha, Deputy Commissioner Kiphire who was the Guest of Honor during the cultural programme pointed out some hints to the people about the importance of indigenous items and culture.

The three day celebration was attended by D.P.O, Land Resources Development Kiphire, O.C. BRO Chessami, P.R. II, Manager, SBI Kiphire and also by the village elders. An official release stated.
