President of India to arrive in Mizoram

Newmai News Network Aizawl | November 28   President of India, Ram Nath Kovind will arrive in Aizawl on Wednesday on his two-day maiden visit to Mizoram.   State Protocol department officials said Kovind will arrive at the Lengpui Airport on Wednesday, then fly to the Thuampui helipad in Aizawl by helicopter and stay at the Raj Bhavan.   He is slated to inaugurate housing complexes for economically weaker sections under the 'Basic Services to Urban Poor Scheme' at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.   The President will also address a special session of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly on Thursday, officials said.   Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in the state capital ahead of the President’s visit.   Police officials said that security and police personnel were deployed along Thuampui to Raj Bhavan to keep vigil.   Use of drone or aerial cameras has been strictly prohibited in and around Raj Bhavan, Chief Minister's Bungalow and Thuampui helipad.   Aizawl Traffic SP C Lalthanmawia has also issued an order prohibiting parking by roadside for free traffic movement during the President’s visit.
