Dimapur, July 16 (MExN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee President K Therie on Saturday said that the impending Presidential election would reveal the ‘wisdom’ of the MLAs and MPs of the state.
Following reports that the BJP led NDA government’s candidate would receive 100% support from Nagaland legislators, Therie contended that “if this is true that, Nagaland for Christ has transformed into Nagaland for Hindutva under the leadership of N Rio.” “In Presidential elections, it is completely a vote of conscience. It is the individual’s independent decision.
There is no Whip. We will see the wisdom of MLAs and MPs who represent a Christian State,” he added in a press release on Saturday. Therie went on to state that, In India, it is no longer political or economic issues under consideration rather; votes are divided on religious lines. “Money and Power have destroyed honesty and Christianity in Nagaland. People have changed from worshiping God to worshipping money and power,” he said, adding that money and power “have been used to facilitate transformation to Hindutva.”
