Man ranks supreme among all the creations of God by virtue of his divinely gifted qualities. Man often feels proud of his being superior to rest of the creatures on this earth and his superiority is manifested in the shaping of human civilization from the primitive stage to the present modernity. But this architecture of human civilization was never an easy sail for humans. At every step time has taken a tough test. Humans have patiently undergone all the odds and onslaughts of time at the cost of lives. But the race of civilization has never come to a halt. It is still continuing and will keep continuing.

Time has taken test of the strength and power of man. It has been vibrant and dynamic in testing the patience, intelligence, diligence and persistency of humans in the dynamic and goal-bound hectic race of civilization. Does not the history of human civilization remind us of the epidemics breaking out at different points of time from time immemorial? Don’t we know about the natural disasters bringing catastrophes to human creations? Archaeology shows us the instances of destructions of human achievements and how innumerable outcomes of sweating toils of humans lie underground. But still the great ocean of human life shows movements and the flow quite unceased. Man has learned new tricks from all odds. That is why, the race of civilization has not come to a standstill.

Time tests the power of man at certain intervals and makes a continuous comprehensive evaluation of human skills. COVID-19 may be another tool of assessment of human skills. There may be no denying the fact. The exercise of lockdown in India along with a multitude of nations of the world gives us an unusual and quaint experiences and feelings. It is queer because all normal activities have been halted. Our daily schedule is made topsy-turvy. We feel captivated within four walls. But we must not take refuge to inactivity. ‘Life is what it is about”, says Pablo Neruda. Life must keep its chariot moving.

This ‘lockdown’ has a farsighted goal ‘fighting the spread of Coronavirus’ and thereby saving the human race from the fatal attack of the unprecedented monster COVID-19. This is an introspective exercise for mankind. All humans can avail the moment to join hands together and intuit the consequences of thoughtless acts and feel the need to live a purposeful life to reach a common goal. It’s time for us to learn from the adversity to accelerate the race of civilization to mount high.

Living with limited resources to confront the constraints of time is a great lesson of life. Life is not a bed of roses and we need to experience the pricks of its thorns and learn from the point it hurts us.

The basic dictates of the lockdown regulation inspire us to maintain self cleanliness and personal sanitation and hygiene. Washing hands with sanitizer, wearing clean clothes, keeping surroundings clean, practicing health formulae for immune boosting, etc. are the basic principles of human wellness. The lockdown exercise is a reinstallation of all these habit softwares in our daily habit system. It must produce positive outcomes and strengthen human immune system to fight Coronavirus and be ready to fight all health hazards. Maintaining quarantine to check the pandemic instills in us the spirit of surveillance to lawful authorities and solidifies our patience, obedience, lawfulness and self-determination which are passports to success in life.

At this juncture, mankind needs to shun panics and feel resolute to successfully confront the malignant disaster COVID-19 and defeat its power and prove the victory of man over evil once again on the face of this earth. Our positivity and optimism never fail. We will win.
