Prez of IBAPWO apologises over Memo to CM

Dimapur, July 20 (MExN): The President of the International Border Area Peoples Welfare Organization (IBAPWO) today apologized for not taking into account the consent of the Laruris and other four communities of Tuensang, Kiphire and Phek district while submitting a memo to the Chief Minister demanding the passing a bill for recognition of all unrecognized Tribes of Nagaland.

The president of the IBAPWO, N Rhuletsu in a press statement apologised for the memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister without taking the approval from the concerned quarters.

“I had submitted the memorandum to C.M on the above cited subject without taking the consent/approval of the Laruris and other four communities of Tuensang, Kiphire and Phek district. I beg my apology before all Tribal council and student bodies of Yimchunger, pochury, Laruris, Chirr, makory, Tikhir and Longphuru for not taking your consent/approval in this regard” said Rhuletsu.

Rhuletsu said that he had submitted the memo for a common cause to draw the attention of the Government and to ventilate grievances and to enjoy the legal rights as Nagas of Nagaland, and hoped that the aggrieved party would understand his intention in good faith.  “It is my effort to draw the attention of the state Government to redress our grievances and to take up developmental/infrastructural developmental activities in our occupied area and to express our rights as Nagas and to bring equi-closeness of all Nagas under one banner” said Rhuletsu.

Rhuletsu  said that his motive of submitting the memorandum to the chief minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio, was neither not it make it a political or tribal issue nor to create any untoward confusion, disunity and damage the image of the relationship of common brotherhood and peaceful co-existence with the parent tribes of Tuensang, Kiphire and as Phek district.

“ I hope you will understand my views and opinions in this regard as it is not for my personal interest or gain that I had submitted the Memorandum to the C.M but for a common cause, which is for the larger interest and benefit for our minority community in general and an eye awakening step to the Government to take up developmental activities in comparison to various areas of other districts of Nagaland” said Rhuletsu.

Rhuletsu said that as a social worker, he expressed his feelings upon the living condition of the people of Border Areas dominated or occupied by various minority tribes without any developments, where basic amenities like electricity, safe drinking water facility, education, health care etc is totally nil.  “We the minority community are still leading our lives comparatively to that of Dark Age. Despite the fact, the state Government is turning a deaf ear to redress our grievances/ problems faced by us since Nagaland attained its statehood and from the term or tenure of late Shilu Ao, first chief minister of Nagaland to our present C.M Neiphu Rio of DAN Government, developments and infrastructural developments is gearing up in rapid pace in other districts of Nagaland, but our Border area are neglected by the Government. We the minority community is neglected by the Government in every sphere of our lives,” said L Rhuletsu.
