Price regulation in place for perishable commodities: DMC

Dimapur, May 6 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) today informed that while the council does not fix the wholesale prices of perishable goods or items, a system of price regulation is in place to control the market rates of these commodities. 

For the larger interest of the consumer and public, the prices of all such perishable items are collected from the wholesale market daily and the quotation of Maximum Retail Price (MRP) for 1 and is prepared with nominal margin on the wholesale rates to be sold by retailers within DMC jurisdiction, it said. 

Officials are deployed at all the market locations for strict vigilance of the market rates quoted by DMC, it maintained.
