Principals of govt colleges attend annual conference

Kohima, October 29 (MExN): The annual conference of Principals of Government Colleges, Nagaland was held at the Directorate of Higher Education on October 26. The Director Higher Education, Kohima in a press release stated that the inaugural session was chaired by Kuholi Chishi, Director of Higher Education.

The session began with an invocation of God's presence by Dr. Watijungshi, Principal, Kohima College, Kohima. The focused on a series of briefings by the officials of the Directorate on issues related to college administration, Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), college accreditation by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) and Career Advance Schemes (CAS) for teachers.  

The inaugural session closed with vote of thanks by Dr. Anungla Aier, Additional Director of Higher Education. In the business sessions, power point presentations were given by all the principals of the Government colleges on their respective institution's annual achievements, NAAC related matters, academic performance, enrolment of students and projects under RUSA.  

This was followed by the handing out of validation certificates to colleges assessed by AAA (Academic and Administrative Audit). The Director in her concluding remarks impressed upon the principals to encourage work culture among the teachers. She ended on the note that one should progress and not remain static as the benchmark of Higher Education is performance based.
