Private Hospitals in Dimapur re-oriented on IDSP-IHIP
Dimapur, March 3 (MExN): As most citizens prefer to avail health services from the private hospitals, data sharing by private hospitals is crucial in disease surveillance and disease outbreak prevention, Dr Kavito Zhimomi, District Surveillance Officer & District Programme Officer (DPO), Dimapur has maintained.
The support, co-operation and data received from the private hospitals especially during COVID pandemic and dengue surge in the previous years were highly helpful in formulating the District’s Surveillance Plan, he added.
He as addressing a re-orientation training on Integrated Health Information (IHIP) portal for Private Hospitals under Dimapur District held February 28 at Chief Medical Officer’s Conference Hall, Dimapur in collaboration with Jhpiego, USAID, and NISHTHA.
The Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme is an instrumental programme in the health sector to monitor 33 identified communicable diseases in the country, he further said.
While the reports were paper-based and submitted weekly, the DPO informed that programme has now shifted to daily online reporting via IHIP Portal for near real time surveillance.
