The inauguration of Pro Fitness Gym was held at the OCK Complex Market on December 3. It was graced by Wokha Deputy Commissioner, Vineet Kumar and fitness enthusiast and bodybuilder Moalong Yaden as the guests of honour.
In his address, Deputy Commissioner Wokha stressed the importance of fitness in everyday life, noting the shift from an agrarian lifestyle to modern comforts, which has contributed to a decline in physical health. He emphasised that the human body is designed for movement and exertion, and prioritising health should take precedence over everything else, including work. He also dispelled the misconception that gyms are solely for bodybuilding, highlighting their role in promoting overall fitness. Kumar further pointed out that fitness could serve as a positive outlet for youth, particularly those at risk of drug addiction.
Moalong Yaden, sharing his personal journey, spoke about how the gym helped him overcome addiction and transform his life. He expressed his hope that the new facility would inspire positive physical, mental, and spiritual changes within the community. Yaden also encouraged the gym’s entrepreneurs to focus not just on profit, but on fostering the well-being and growth of the youth.
Entrepreneur Ren Khuvung, in his remarks, stated that the launch of Pro fitness gym aims to cultivate a culture of health and wellness in Wokha, providing a space for individuals to improve their fitness and adopt healthier lifestyles.
