Sangeet Natak Academy in collaboration with Hill Theatre and Art and Culture Department, Government of Nagaland organized a 30-day production oriented theatre workshop in Mokokchung, Nagaland.
At a very brief inaugural programme, Monglier, Associate Pastor, MTBA before saying a prayer said that he hopes the theatre workshop will help the people of the town through their contribution and will bear fruits from the young talents.
Sentilong Ozukum, SDO (Civil), Mokokchung, who attended the inaugural programme as the guest of honor, said that art is something original, something we create and treasure and value. People in the art field consider art as a deity and they worship art.
He said that the workshop will be a time of renewal and it will be like a pilgrimage, a spiritual journey where the participants will learn so many things. He also thanked the resource persons for choosing to come to Mokokchung and for their sacrifices.
Pabitra Rabha, one of the resource persons also spoke on the occasion and said that the workshop will be a time to learn new things and make new friends. He said that to continue a journey in the field or art and theatrics is difficult and in the 30 days the participants will also become a part of a journey.
He added that in the next coming days the participants will try to find out what makes us beautiful in front of the camera, the audience and as actors and that they will go through so many things to really know what makes each one beautiful.
The resource persons at the workshop are Bendang Walling, Alumni NSD, New Delhi, Theatre practitioner and actor, Jadumani Singh, Director of Blooming cultural academy, performing arts and award winning Theatre practitioner, Thoudam Victor Singh, Alumni NSD, New Delhi, Charles Wallace student, London school of performing arts, Kilangtemsu Imsong, Alumni, NSD (TIE) Tripura, Theatre practitioner and actor and Pabitra Rabha, Alumni NSD, New Delhi, Theatre Director and Bollywood actor.
The workshop will include production process and improvisation, physical theatre, property making, make-up & theatre music, participatory theatre and role play, realistic acting, glimpse of theatre direction, management and set design.
The workshop is ongoing at the Art and Culture office, Ungma, Mokokchung with 26 aspiring actors enrolling for the workshop.
