Dimapur, November 25 (MExN): Pro Rural Dimapur launched ‘Project Waste to Gold’ supported by SBI Foundation at Model Colony Sumi Fellowship Hall, Purana Bazar Dimapur with Thejavizo Nakhro, EAC Chümoukedima as the chief guest on November 24. The project will cover Model Colony and Jorapukhuri under Purana Bazar, Dimapur and service to about 2000+ families, informed a press release issued by Pro Rural Dimapur.
Hatneikim Imsong, Chief Manager (Compliance and Risk) SBI, RBO Dimapur speaking as the chief guest shared about SBI CSR and its vision and mission and said that SBI CSR wants to become a premier CSR institute. She mentioned how difficult it is to get CSR project this days and congratulated Pro Rural for reaching this far and becoming eligible and qualified to get this CSR project from SBI Foundation.
Thejavizo Nakhro, EAC Chümoukedima in his speech mentioned that this kind of initiative will benefit the people socially and economically. This kind of project is a win-win initiative. He also appreciated the model of the project where some unemployed youths will be given employment and help them to develop their livelihood through this project. In an urban set up, where the urban authorities are finding hard to manage waste and ways to reduce waste, it is a welcome initiative.
Vikuto Wotsa, GB Model Colony and Khevihe Chophy, Retd District Session Judge from Jorapukhuri also spoke and ensured full cooperation towards implementing the project.
The chief guest also launched the project by cutting the Ribbon on the vehicle to be used for waste collection in the ‘Project Waste to Gold’ and the distribution of work implements, tools, protective gears and uniforms.
The programme was attended by around 60 people including the Council Chairmen, GBs, retired Bureaucrats, Judges, Officials and leaders from Model Colony and Jorapukhuri, SBI, RBO, Dimapur, Dimapur Municipal Council, Nagaland Pollution Control Board, CAN Youth and other well wishers.
