The debut album of Bayie Kro-u composed of 11 songs in Tenyidie language was released by Chairman, Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board, Government of Nagaland, Dr Neiphrezo Keditsu at Vivid Lounge today.

While speaking at the programme, Keditsu impounded on the importance of music while drawing reference to the significance of songs composed in our native languages. "These songs stay in our memory and keep us attached to our language (Tenyidie). Listening to them is learning beyond the music."

“However, younger generation are not only forgetting how to speak the native language but forgetting it," Keditsu lamented noting that they have become more inclined to speaking western languages.

Appreciating the efforts of the composers, he commented that the songs that have been composed have good and deep meaning. Calling to stay connected to the roots, he said “when we promote our native language, we promote our cultures and history.”

About Bayie Kro-u

Speaking to media persons here, the trio- Zapusato Pfukri, Vitouzo Zuyie and Thepfuneituo Talie said the album has 11 songs in Tenyidie - a mix of romantic (love and sad songs) and a song for Neiphiu Rio, the Chief Minister of Nagaland.

The songs are classic contemporaries bringing back old memories of friendship, admiration and heartbreak which were common favourite genres in the past.

The album is available in pendrive at Rutsa Bakery (Old NST), Rosewood (Razhü Point), Zumvü Printex (Opp. Bank of Baroda), and My Cafe (Near Oking)
