‘Prospect of eco tourism in Nagaland’

Dimapur, July 23 (MExN): Z Nzanmongi Ngullie, Asst Professor of Tourism Department, St. Joseph College Jakhama presented a paper on ‘Prospect of eco tourism in Nagaland’ in the 4th International Conference on Social Science Research 2016 (ICSSR 2016) held at Kaula Lampur Malaysia on July 18 and 19.  

A press note stated that Nzanmongi represented India during the conference which was attended by several researchers from all around the world. This was her first research paper and it aimed at the prospect of eco-tourism in Nagaland. It highlighted the implications and insights on human impact on environment so as to foster a greater appreciation of our natural habitat. It also explored the different responsible of eco-tourism programmes and ways to minimize the negative aspects of conventional tourism on the environment and seek to develop a sustainable model that will promote energy efficient, economic opportunities and enhancing bio-cultural diversity.  

The paper also highlighted the possibilities of local capacity building and empowering local communities to fight poverty and achieve sustainable development will be explored and successful models will be studied to develop models suitable to the Nagaland conditions.
