
Kohima, January 28 (MExN): Under the banner of ‘Sahakar Se Samriddhi’ – ‘Prosperity through Cooperatives,’ the Department of Cooperation participated in the exhibition commemorating the 75th Republic Day Celebration at Secretariat Plaza, Kohima on January 26.
A DIPR report stated that the Department showcased new initiatives of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, through various multimedia viz. the Computerization of PACS (Primary Agriculture Credit Cooperative Societies), Adoption of Model Bye laws, Creation of World Largest Grain Storage facility, National Cooperative Database (NCD), Computerization of RCS office, etc.
Various packaged agri products from the different cooperative societies were exhibited and sold to the visitors. Notable amongst the products were, pure and raw honey and organic Kholar, processed by the DaramatiBeru Area Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Kiphire. Sumac, king chilli powder, Szechuan pepper, processed and marketed by MARCOFED Dimapur, and handicrafts from CekrozuveKrotho Weaving and Industrial Cooperative Society Diezephe.
