'Protect Your Mom Campaign’ in Dimapur held

Former Chief Secretary, Banuo Jamir urged Cancer patients to maintain positive outlook to life adding treatment should be accompanied with the way the patients lives his/her life. 

She was addressing a gathering during a programme for Hair Donation & Protect Your Mom Campaign at Eden Medical Centre, Dimapur on June 29. 

A Cancer survivor herself, Banuo emphasized on living one's life well through proper counseling, eating healthy and surrounded with positive energy. She also talked about the importance of developing a good sense of humour and to give expression to their feelings.

Stating that Cancer has emerged as a major public health problem in the state, Banuo urged for a positive approach towards the disease which could be treated if detected early. She further stressed on the need to propagate pro-active advocacy.

Dr. Aoakum of EMC, said that the fight against Cancer was not only through treatment but in the attitude and spirit. He spoke on the need to instill hope and confidence in the minds of the patients. He said family and friends of the patients play a vital role in instilling the needed confidence.

During the programme, Amen Jamir spoke about Hair for Hope India. The programme was organized by Hair for Hope India in collaboration with Beyond Cancer.

Altogether 42 persons donated hair at Eden towards the Protect Your Mom Campaign.
