PSAN urges Nagaland Govt to fast track NSSB recruitment

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 12 (MExN): The Public Service Aspirants of Nagaland (PSAN) has urged the Nagaland State Government to fast track the NSSB recruitment process for all the Grade III posts which do not come under the purview of the NPSC.

“The anger and frustration level of the educated unemployed youth has surpassed the boiling point and it cannot be contained any further. While the government has been resorting to its delay tactics, the aspirants are losing valuable years and many are nearing or have even crossed the age limit in the process,” a press release from the association pointed out.

It reminded the PDA Government of its swearing-in ceremony in 2018 in the presence of  thousands of Nagas, especially the educated youth of Nagaland.

“The PSAN recalls one of the manifestos - ‘Change is coming’ which has been ringing in the ears of the citizens of Nagaland ever since. Now, with the formation of the oppositionless  government (NUG), the PSAN hopes that the NUG will deliver on the promises  which have remained unfulfilled till date,” it said. The PSAN cautioned the government not to turn a deaf ear to the urgent call of the unemployed youth as it will only result in resentment and agitation.

“It is a misfortune and a huge disappointment to see the lack of urgency in implementation of the NSSB even after months and rounds of consultations. It is high time that the government acts upon this issue and turns its words into real policies reflecting upon Nagaland as a welfare state.”

Stating that the “man-made unemployment  catastrophe” in Nagaland  has  reached its zenith, the PSAN appealed for assistance and support from different civil societies, church bodies and  various other organizations who share the same concern(s) for the unemployed youth in the state, so as to achieve the common goals smoothly without hindrances from any quarter.

Meanwhile, the PSAN lauded the Rising People’s Party (RPP) for filing the PIL which led to the suspension of the Office Memorandum dated 16th July 2021, for Departmental Exams till NSSB is fully operationalized for open recruitment through meritocracy.
