PTCSU conducts educational  tour of institutions in Pfutsero 

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 9 (MExN): The Pfutsero Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (PTCSU) conducted an educational tour on August 7 & 8 and visited educational institutions in and around Pfutsero jurisdiction. 

During the tour, the PTCSU team held discussion with all the principals of the educational institutions and deliberated on numerous issues faced by the educational institutions. The PTCSU also discussed various issues with the student fraternity and the students’ councils.  

With Pfutsero town being the epicenter of Chakhesang tribe, the union felt that it has so much to do for the betterment of educational institutions. It said academic toppers have emerged in recent years from different schools of Pfutsero town and while congratulating those achievements, it called upon educational institutions to continue imparting quality education so that more academic topper are produced every year. The union also appealed for active participation from parents for their children in schools and at home. 

The union, meanwhile, expressed worry over the alarming increase of alcohol and tobaccos substance abuse by students and.  It appealed the educational institutions for setting up student redressal/grievance cell to address the issue of student’s difficulties and concern. It also warned of strict action against shop owners selling tobacco substance/alcohol to students in uniform and to minors. 

Also observing that some government schools lack basic facilities and proper infrastructures, teaching staffs, grade 4 staff, coupled with poor road condition leading to schools and colleges etc, the union appealed the concern department to look into the matter urgently at the earliest. 

It also appealed the concern department/contractor engaged in building the new Pfutsero government college to complete the work at the earliest.

Observing that more colleges and higher secondary of different stream and course was required in Pfutsero town to meet the need of the district and student fraternity in general, the union appealed both government and private entities to open colleges of science and commerce stream and other technical course. It assured to provide full cooperation for the welfare of the students community.
