PTCSU dismayed over poor telecom network in Phek town

Kohima, August 22 (MExN): The Phek Town Chakhesang Students' Union (PTCSU) stated that ever since the pandemic swept throughout the world and with the constant lockdown imposed throughout the nation, the general public has been subjected to meet various difficulties and uncertainties.

Touching on the online classes and online exams, the PTCSU expressed dismay over poor telecom network at Phek town.

“It is regretted whether the poor network issue is specifically in Phek town or the entire area of Nagaland. The manager, proprietor in-charge of Phek Town Jio/Airtel service provider is best known for such failure and negligence,” the Union stated.

The Union stated that especially when the government and the public are putting all efforts to bring quality education in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic situation, education courses cannot be compromised nor jeopardized ignorantly just because of weak network connectivity.

The PTCSU also argued that the recharge done for internet service could not be utilized or accessed for all online class and exams which is directly or indirectly compromising the precious time, money, energy etc. of the teachers and the students which is a vital for the academic activities.

“This snail pace network signal, instead of repeated reminder, the Phek Town Airtel/Jio service provider could not be improved nor materialized for such delay, direly putting the students career at risk,” the Union stated.

Therefore, the PTCSU stated, “for such dereliction, the Union bring this open notice to the government and the public to judge and bring justice for the welfare of the precious students career, while in the midst of the smooth conduct of the ongoing classes and exams which is the only practical mechanism until normal educational activities can resume.”

This was stated in a release issued by PTCSU president Surhoveyi Khesoh and press secretary Diezekho Vadeo.
