Peren, February 3 (MExN): The Peren Town Youths under the aegis of Peren Town Youth Organisation held a meeting on February 3 at the Head Gaon Bura Office.
Given the volatile situation in the state and rising tensions amongst the citizens, the youths felt the need to dispel any fear or misgivings in the minds of the various delegates and guests as they come to attend the 80th Annual Session of the NBCC which is hosted by ZBCC at the ZBCC Mission Compound, Peren Town.
PTYO, President Deusoyi and General Secretary, Heluiteing in a press release stated that in the deliberations that followed, a clarion call was made upon the youths to be vigilant and avoid any kinds of misbehaviour or altercation to any of the guests which might bring unnecessary attention to the town and its people. It called upon the youths to ensure that the guests have a pleasant stay and that a stern warning for action towards anyone found indulging or committing nuisance to any of the guests.
Also PTYO makes a fervent appeal to the various state machineries, tribal bodies and particularly the NBCC for wise intervention to lift the bandh along the highway to facilitate a smooth flow of goods and services.
It is noteworthy that since the imposition of the Bandh the town is reeling under huge shortage of daily goods as the town is dependent on the goods bought and brought from Dimapur town.
The organisation prays that the innocent public and the resident of the town be not made the victim at this juncture.
The organisation hopes that the current impasse be solved at the earliest and that good sense and God given wisdom prevail amongst the Naga brethren.
