Public awareness Rally in support of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) under the theme ‘save the girl child’ was held on January 22 at Mon Town.
The students of Wangkhao College Mon started the rally from Deputy Commissioner Office complex which cumulated at Local ground Mon along with the Faculty and District Administration holding banner and play cards.
Some of the play card read: if you kill girls who will give birth to next generation; little girls are heaven’s flowers; don’t kill before it even begin; Girls spread happiness in the family etc.
A short programme was conducted at local ground where the students and faculty took the pledge to save and to educate the girl child.
As a part of the ongoing campaign, District Administration of Mon conducted self defence class to the girl students of Wangkhao College in the college premises.
H Samuel, Instructor Martial Arts Academy, Mon along with his team demonstrated on self defence. The girl students actively participated and trained on self defence. Imliwapang Aier, EAC Mon and teaching faculty of Wangkhao College were present during the class.
