Drawing the attention of our people to put at rest the persisting trend of confusion in the minds of the public because of different write-ups by individual’s in the name of the NNC, this statement is hereby released for the digestion and discernment of the public.
Foremostly, the NNC is the undisputed and the only political institution of the Naga’s formed in 1946.Following this, the Legitimate Federal Govt. of Nagaland was declared on the 22nd March 1956 and the National Naga Army of the FGN was commissioned on the 3rd Jan 1964.
In the NNC, there is a central Team of office bearer’s headed by the President, Vice President’s, General Secretary, Joint Secretaries and other Secretaries as may be required but which is controlled by the executives committee of the NNC which is comprise of six representatives from each Region (Tribe) of Nagaland as of today.
The NNC subscribe Rs.1 (one) per head only on every Naga annually which is the membership fee controlled by the NNC.
The FGN receives the normal and willing contributions from the people to run the Naga Govt. and to maintain the standing National Naga Army. All these powers are bestowed by the people both young and old. This convention is passed down to all the regions (Tribes) likewise.
At no point of time in Naga National History or the Yehzabo of Nagaland there ever exist any provision for the NNC to exercise executive power’s to appoint or discharged, Kilonser’s, Tatars, Midanpeyu’s, Leacy’s, Razupeyu’s and so on nor have the authority to directly interfere in the functioning of the Naga National Army. These things are subject matter’s of FGN and not the responsibility of the NNC.
Any activity outside the preview of convention of the Naga’s by anybody is immoral misuse of the name of the NNC. Each and every Naga should uphold the Lakhuti Resolution of 1995 and the Yehzabo of Nagaland.
The so called Shillong accord of 11th Nov 1975 in the name of the underground organizations and the accordist thereof is self explanatory and must no longer be the cause of disunity in our land now. Irrespective of the consequence, the NNC/FGN remains committed and uphold the rights and cause of Naga Nation to this day. In Naga National Movement, leaders are not self made but selected/elected by the people. Today, each and everyone need to ask oneself as to where one stands. The public also need to openly support the true national workers. If Nagas are not aware of this fact today, our land will be filled with imposters tomorrow where the public will become silent lambs to be butchered at will in the hands of such characters.
Naga’s declared our independence on the 14th August 1947 and our people had been defending his freedom from the beginning to his day. Naga’s do not need another plebiscite of 16th May 1951 to re-affirm our freedom and sovereignty to the outside world but which challenges us to be a people and a Nation in our own land through unity.
Taking into account all these historical facts it is ample time for the Naga’s to discern for themselves and stand up for truth and reality today and work in oneness to realize the long cherished dream’s and aspiration’s of our people for freedom and liberty.
