Having reconciled with the facts and circumstances, I have with sincere conviction and in consultation with my family decided to completely part ways with NSCN/GPRN. Though there is no existence of Article.3(c) in the NSCN Yezabho and purported violation of which I have been expelled and though official copy of expulsion is yet to be received personally, I have had the opportunity to personally clarify my position before Mj. Gen. Nymlang, GSO-1, GHQ on 26th May 2013 at the GHQ, and thus arrived at this decision to retire from the service. The GSO-1 in return has officially confirmed my position and decision.
Keeping in mind, the dignity and stature of NSCN/GPRN under SS. Khaplang’s leadership, I unconditionally have decided to neither defend myself nor question the decision of NSCN/GPRN. Respectfully, I rest my case to the Judgment of God Almighty and the wisdom of NSCN authority.
I personally pay my homage to His Excellency, SS. Khaplang, The Chairman and President, NSCN/GPRN, for the fatherly grooming all through my service, also would like to express my unreserved gratitude to Lt. Gen. Niki Sumi for the patronage and unceasing counsel during a decade of journey in the NSCN/GPRN.
During my stint in the service (2004-2013), I have met and made many friends and equally rivals too, factionalism has at times forced me to commit unreasonable actions against fellow Naga brothers but no such actions were personally motivated or dictated, all were purely circumstantial.
Now that I am to start my life anew with three children, wife and a family, I make this fervent plea to every Naga political groups to spare me of any suspicion or connivance in favour or against any group in the days to come.
Lastly , but not the least, I would also like to express my profound gratitude to Ato Kilonser N. Kitovi Zhimomi and Gen. Khole Konyak, then C-n-C, Naga Army for their benevolence and matured guidance during my brief service under their leaderships.
My journey in the NSCN/GPRN, has been a self-searching experience worth life time re-collection and I owe those opportunity to Almighty God and to my senior and subordinate comrades who stood beside me all through thick and thin.
Deep within my heart and soul I will always be a patriot and a nationalist despite my inability to continue physically. Wishing every bit of luck and success to NSCN/GPRN and every Naga struggling political groups in their endeavor.
Lt. Col. (Retd.) Isak Sumi
