Mopong Hongkong Students Union initiates renovation 

Mon, May 13 (MExN): The Mopong Hongkong Students Union (MHSU) President L. Kholee and General secretary A. Moba Konyak in a press release has highlighted the plights of the Public Health Centre Mopong. 

The Union stated that the infrastructures of PHC Mopong were constructed with 12 Bedded structure in 1999-2000. “It is an apparent fact to note that the building has not been taken up by the government or the concerned department in the lapse of years, leaving in pathetic conditions at the verge of complete destruction,” the student leaders added.  

They also added that PHC Mopong is the only centre for 11 villages of Mopong Hongkong however there is no Medical Officer (MO) till date. 

The Union on March 8, 2019 convened a consultation with general public of the range and unanimously resolved to reinstate the distorted building with freewill contributions and services. 

Taking into consideration the importance of health, Mopong Hongkong Students Union (MHSU) initiated ‘health is wealth’ as one of the missions under the theme ‘Year of Social Awakening.’

The MHSU took up the PHC Mopong renovation drive with self-contributions and services for the welfare of the people of Mopong Hongkong. The renovation started on May 11 with citizens of Mopong HQ clearing the vicinity of deserted and unattended PHC Mopong. 

On the first day of renovation drive, the renovation drive saw the participations of every household of Mopong Town and A. Neangba Konyak, one of the founding members of MHSU.
