Mokokchung, July 8 (MExN): District level public hearing on social audit under MGNREGA for the works done for the financial year 2016-17 in two blocks covering 10 villages. Changki, Atuphumi, Molungkimong, Dibuia and Longjemdang under RD Block Mangkolemba and Tsurmen, Akumen, Yajang (A), Yajang (B) and Changdang under RD block Longchem was held on July 8 at Conference Hall Metsupen Hotel, Mokokchung.
M Toshimongla Kichu, PD cum DPC MGNREGA DRDA, Mokokchung chaired the hearing programme which was attended by K Mero, EAC Kubolong as independent observer, Imlirenla Sanglir, SRP SAU Kohima, PO MGNREGA DRDA, Mokokchung representatives of Social Audit Unit , DRDA and RD Blocks officials ,village functionaries, NGOs and MGNREGA workers attended the hearing programme.
At the outset, the chairperson welcome the gathering and express gratitude to the participants, further appreciated all stakeholders for smooth conduct of the social Audit of all the villages and encourage the VDB and officials to take note of the findings and take corrective measures.
Introduction on social audit was done by Imtirenla Sanglir, about MGNREGA that provide not only employment to the rural poor but also of creating assets to the villages. She also informs the gathering that Social Audit is not a fake finding but it is a fact finding which need participation of all beneficiaries for transparency and accountability of the MGNREGA programme.
District RESOURCE PERSON and Block Resource Person presented the fact findings on social audit conducted which was followed by general discussion. K. Mero, EAC Kubolong independent observer during discussion hour highlighted of holding Aadhaar camp in the respective village with the help of the concerned block administrative officials for linking in the job card.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by the chairperson.
