The global economic conditions have been affecting the Nagaland newspaper industry for quite some time. In the midst of all these challenges The Morung Express has tried to withstand all the hardships. However, much against our desire, urgent remedial steps need to be taken to safeguard the continuation of the newspaper. Hence, with effect from January 1, 2012 The Morung Express has decided to enhance the cover rate from Rupees 3/ to Rupees 4/. This increment in the cover rate is necessitated due to drastic increase in the cost of production. The ever rising cost of raw materials and the absence of meaningful assistance from the government of Nagaland have compelled this unavoidable measure.
The Morung Express appeals to our most respected readers to kindly understand the circumstances that have required us to take this step. We believe that with your support, solidarity and cooperation, we as a newspaper will not only survive, but will embody the voice of the people to make democracy a living reality in Nagaland.
