Dimapur, August 17 (MExN): A petition has been shot off to the Public Information Officer, Directorate of Health & medical Service demanding the details of supply and allotment of medicines and other allied materials to various hospitals and dispensaries far-flung areas especially.
A letter addressed to the Public Information Officer, Directorate of Health & Medical Services, by one petitioner, Chubatangit a resident of Alempang Ward in Mokokchung town, said that in many cases where people suffer from various diseases the people are not getting timely treatment and preventive proper measures. The petitioner said that basic and emergency facilities along with required medicines should be given ‘to the needy from the govt hospitals’.
“It is to state that in view of outbreak of sudden epidemic diseases like malaria, viral fever, dysenteries, bird flu and various other diseases, the govt hospital, dispensaries and primary health centre must equip with enough medicines and other allied requirements to save the people,” said the petitioner.
In this regard, the petitioner demanded from the PIO of Health department to know about the details of supply and allotment of medicines and other allied materials to the respective government hospitals, dispensaries and primary health centers within “the time prescribe by the relevant act”.
The petitioner said that the petition has been made in the interest of public and to ensure transparency in the dealings of the concern department.
